Victron HS19: field-tested with Thanda since 2024
From around ten formal field tests across Africa and Europe to powering our own offices and warehouse, Thanda has helped put Victron’s high-voltage platform to work.

When Victron introduced the Multi HS19 Solar 15k in June 2026, it was a public milestone for a product we had already spent considerable time working with. Thanda has been field testing HS19 as part of Victron’s R&D community since 2024.
We ran a formal field-testing programme for Victron comprising around ten field tests across Africa and Europe. Being involved has given us the opportunity to contribute practical experience as this new high-voltage platform develops. We are excited about its potential and proud of the role we have played so far.
What the released HS19 brings
The Multi HS19 Solar 15k brings a three-phase inverter/charger and four independent solar MPPT trackers into a 19-inch rack unit. The published model delivers 15kW of continuous AC output in total across its three phases, works with compatible managed batteries in the 650–1000V range, and accepts up to 32kW of solar input.
For us, the appeal is a Victron high-voltage system with an integrated rack format and the monitoring and configuration tools that installers already know. The practical questions are familiar: how does the complete system behave, how well do the inverter and battery work together, and how effectively can we support it over time?
Testing batteries, then using the system ourselves
Our testing has included LBSA and Hubble HV batteries. Today, we run our own offices and warehouse on an HS19 system with a Hubble HV100 stack. It is equipment we work with in our daily operations.
That ongoing use gives our team direct experience of the platform while keeping us involved in its continued development. Battery integration is an important part of the work: voltage range, battery management and communication all belong in the complete system design. Victron’s current HV compatibility information includes Hubble HV100 and the LBSA HV range; use the exact battery model and current manufacturer guidance when planning an installation.
Firmware development continues after launch
Our involvement continues as the product reaches more installations. In the week beginning 19 October 2026, we helped identify a firmware issue related to battery charging. That resulted in a firmware update from Victron, which is being tested at our site as this article is published.
This is part of what we value about participating in the R&D community: experience from a working site can reach the people developing the product, and an update can be evaluated in the field. Testing the update is ongoing. We look forward to continuing that work and contributing to further firmware improvements.
Next: parallel testing and a 30kW module
Our next planned step is testing HS19 units in parallel, followed by the forthcoming 30kW inverter/charger-only module, without solar inputs. Victron has publicly described the 30kW version as being in its final design phase.
These are development-testing plans. The current public manual still lists parallel operation as unavailable, and the technical data identifies support with future hardware revisions. Customer systems should be designed around the capabilities and hardware Victron currently supports. We will share more as our testing progresses.
Experience behind the local support
We want customers to have quality equipment, local technical support and a route to manufacturer escalation when a difficult question needs engineering input. Taking part in field testing helps us build that experience and maintain a practical connection with product development.
If you are considering a Victron high-voltage system, talk to our Ballito team about your loads, existing equipment and battery requirements. We can work through the published capabilities and the support your project will need. We are looking forward to seeing what Victron’s HV range makes possible, and to continuing our part in testing and improving it.
